350g bột mì, 25g đường, 5g men nở cho vào âu trộn đều. Sau đó cho từ từ 190ml sữa tươi đun ấm vào, mang bao tay nhồi 5-7 phút. Cuối cùng cho 15ml dầu vào tiếp tục nhồi trộn bột cho tất cả quyện thành một khối không dính tay. Ủ bột 50 phút cho bột nở gấp đôi.
Qua thời gian ủ, bột đã nở. Lấy bột ra nhồi sơ lại. Chia bột thành những phần nhỏ (60-80g/phần). Cán từng miếng bột hơi mỏng, rồi cho nhân thịt gà xào vào, túm mép vỏ bột bánh lại. Cho bánh lên miếng giấy xếp sẵn lên xửng.
Nấu 1 nồi nước cùng 1 miếng chanh hay 1 muỗng canh giấm (Miếng chanh/hay dấm này có tác dụng giúp bánh bao hấp trắng hơn). Khi nước sôi thì cho xửng bánh vào hấp 10-12 phút là bánh chín.
