Theoretically correct, because after injury your body strengthens the area which it was hit to prevent more injuries at that area. You could watch a video where some guy was bending metal bars without any issue, because he broke his legs so many times they wouldn't break so easily anymore

Actually, while it sure won't help against bullets, if you train taking hits with things like a stick, lightly at first, then harder later on in your training, your skin will harden and you will be less likely to develop bruises after being hit in a fistfight. Same logic, only in this case it really works.
