Vo sạch hạt kê vào gạo tẻ rồi cho chúng vào nồi, đỏ ngập nhiều nước, đun sôi lửa lớn rồi hạ lửa vừa nấu cho cháo chín nhừ.
Thịt bò thăn rửa sạch, thái nhỏ, ướp thịt bò với gừng sợi, 3g muối, 1 muỗng cà phê nước tương, 1 muỗng cà phê dầu hào. Sau đó thêm 1 muỗng canh dầu ăn vào, trộn đều, để yên 10-15 phút.
Cải bó xôi nhặt sạch, rửa sạch. Khi cháo chín nhừ, thêm thịt bò đã ướp và trộn trong 1 phút.
Tiếp theo cho cải bó xôi vào, nêm thêm gia vị chua vừa miệng. Mình thì không nêm thêm nhưng khi ăn có thể rưới ít nước mắm mặn cho vừa miệng.
