If a teacher has 100 students and the test is very short (say one two-sided sheet of paper), that’s 200 pages worth of work to grade. I’m doubting that students get assigned 200 pages of problems to do a night.

I believe, people here don't understand how much work a teacher has. it's not just the checking each students test. its preparing the test, also during the test is work. between lessons is work. preparing for the next lesson. so there is a full day and then there is the stuff they do after work which is mostly unpaid and then their have to take care of their own families as well, while students go home, do homework and play with themselves.. + the teacher has to deal with those clowns and disrespectful students and sometimes their parents. I wouldn't wanna do this job for sure. but comparing about homework vs. grading a fucking test is like comparing apples with pear. maybe this is one of the things where young people learn that life isn't fair? there are good and bad teachers, but at the end they work more hours a day then a student

There are grades for math or history or whatever your system has. But i don't remember there to be a grade for doing my homework. But teachers are humans so the grade they give you is often based on how much they like you anyway.

You have to do like 5-6 different homework if you have to prepare to every class.... Your teacher has to grade 2-300 depending on his classes... He is already proven his worth and can ignore your sorry ass.... You have not proved yourself yet!

It depends of the discipline and the type of test...some works are long to correct. A high school dissertation (essay) is at least 20 minutes to correct....when you have 3 classes of 30 student, do the maths... a friend who is teaches mathematics needs far less time per copy.

You can´t compare that but some teachers really overdo it with their fucking homework. Especially if it is stuff, that was not covered during schooltime. I had more stay up until late at night a lot back ins chool just for the homework
